Grassroot Collective / Cory Ferguson

Alternate Styles

Tattooing since 2000, Cory Ferguson learned the basics of his craft from his father. Extensive visits to europe and particularly London, England exposed Cory to the style of tattooing the he is now known for across the globe. Although he also specializes in portraits and Japanese, his main focus is on a unique and groundbreaking tattoo genre referred to as "blackwork". This unusual style is a fusion of pointillism, polynesian tribal tattooing, optical illusions, geometric repetitive patterns, and buddhist/asian art. Most of his work is drawn freehand over larger areas of the body, which allows him to ensure that his tattoos fit properly and flow with the body part they are covering. The clients natural shape and musculature being an integral part of the design. Cory usually works at 6 or 7 tattoo conventions a year, but most of the time can be found at his new shop Good Point Tattoos in Oakville, Ontario.
